This week the Sam’s open with a reversal of fortunes for the Merseyside clubs; Liverpool suffers an embarrassing defeat and Everton has a convincing win at home. Villa and the Foxes get 4-0 shutouts, and the top of the table takes shape. Arsenal still holds on to the top spot, but Man City is sneaking closer. Finally, Newcastle claims its place in the top four as they beat Spurs and Chelsea and Man U draw. For this week’s whiskey, the Sam’s enjoy a unicorn bottle with the Henry McKenna Bottled in Bond Bourbon. Grab a drink and listen.

This go around the Sam’s quickly recap the midweek matches that for the most part were quite boring. Heck, the last scoreless draw between Brentford and Chelsea was the most exciting match. Not that it was minus the drama, with CR7 walking off the pitch and Stevie G getting axed.
The boys enjoy a single barrel from Westward clocking in at 129 proof, while a special quest reminds us to drink responsibly.

The Sam’s get right into Liverpool’s stunning win over City that also opened a four-point lead at the top for Arsenal after they win at Leeds. Chelsea and Man U are fighting for European places but with the unfamiliar faces of Newcastle, Brighton and Brentford. Big Sam and Producer Mel both get stuck with Malört shots as Villa and Everton lose.
The boys enjoy a special release from Balvenie's 16-year-old French Oak.

This week the Sam’s open with the stellar matchup between Arsenal and Liverpool. Graham is over the moon with his side's start to the season. West Ham, Crystal Palace, and Newcastle all seem to be righting the ship as all three got big wins. Pulisic is back in the starting line up at Chelsea, City keeps rolling and big Sam’s Everton finally loses, and a shot of Malört looms. The Sam’s enjoy a timeless classic Dewars 21-year-old.

This week the Sam’s don’t have any prem action to discuss, because the players were away on international duty, so we welcomed our good friend Nicole back into the studio to discuss the search for a club of her own. This round of “Exploring One’s Soccuality”: the search for a club to support. This round of dating is down to Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Brentford, Wolverhampton, and Nottingham Forest. Nicole realizes one team may be very easy to look at but their footy is hard to watch. She says farewell to that club with her first shot of Malort.
At least she had the Adnams Rye Malt to wash away the bad taste as the boys found the final missing piece of the Whisky Advocate 2019 list for the Top 20 Whiskeys.
Whose Kit will she wear next year? Stay tuned.

Graham’s Arsenal held on to their lead at the top of the table over Man City as they both secure wins. The boys take a second to welcome Paul from the Stateside Seagulls to discuss all things Brighton. Big Sam’s toffees and Mel’s Villa both get wins making it a no Malort Monday. They all enjoy some Wilderness Trail BIB for the whiskey this week.

So much happened over the weekend! The Merseyside Derby more than delivered, despite the lack of goals. Mel’s Villa earned a scrappy point with City, but unfortunately the attention is once again VAR. Bad officiating caused over half a dozen incidents, which affected outcomes, like Newcastle and West Ham, who were robbed of goals. Speaking of goals, Brentford, Leeds, Bournemouth, Forest, Brighton, and Leicester accounted for 19 of them. Big Sam surprises Graham with the Heaven Hill Bottled in Bond which was #4 from the Whiskey Advocate Top 20 from 2019.

The Sam’s are called into double duty this week as there were mid-week matches. Liverpool won at the death, the teams at the bottom are digging themselves a bigger whole. Arsenal remains perfect and Haaland scores another hat trick for City. The boys are over zoom and each drinking their own whiskey, some more than the other. This show is long and goes off the rails, as it’s Graham’s annual drunken transfer recap. It is exactly what it says it is Graham drinks, a lot… I mean a whole lot, like way more than normal. Then he proceeds to read the list of all the comings and goings of the prem as Huston tries to wrangle him in and keep Graham to task. This section is after the regular show if you do not want to listen, you’ve been warned. It is a drunk guy reading a list of names.

This week the Sam’s open with goals… lots of goals, like 9 of them and it wasn’t Southampton. City and Liverpool hammer both Palace and Bournemouth respectively. The north London clubs occupy 2 spots in the top 3 as neither have lost. Oh-So didn’t offer much as frankly, the matches were dull. No fear, the Sam’s found plenty to joke about.
They enjoyed a little Westward Pinot Noir finished American Single Malt.
