The top of the table faced the bottom of the table in the championship, and it affected the relegation battle quite a bit. Wednesday has been the first officially relegated club in all of football and even worse it was in the derby to Da’ Blades. Cardiff is holding on to their lead in Lg 1 by a thread, as there is finally some breathing room for a few clubs at the bottom. Accy had a great week in Lg 2 and the battle for survival is heating up.

The FA Cup 4th round was this weekend, and the Sam’s chat all about Mansfields stunning comeback win over Burnley. The Silkmans dream run comes to an end with an own goal, and Wrexham have advanced to the 5the round for the first time in 29 years. They have a lengthy discussion above the failures of the refs and their reliance on VAR to do their job for them. They then go through the 5th round match-ups. Wigan and Rotherham have fallen into the drop of Lg 1 but the bottom 8 are all still separated by 2 points. Accy had another great week and have moved up to 12th place in Lg 2.

Coventry have a bad month and now find themselves level at the top of the Championship with Boro. Pompey got a big win over West Brom and now find themselves 4 points safe. Lg 1 has 8 clubs all with in 2 points of each other in the relegation battle. Accy had a great week in Lg 2 and would appear to be safe while Walsall are in the midst of another fall out of the playoff. Darlings Grimsby Town are on an epic run of form to start the new year.

The Gunners go back to a 6-point lead at the top of the table with a thrashing of Leeds and both Man City and Villa dropping points.
