This week the Sam’s open with the match everyone had their eye on, Newcastle and West Ham! I know everyone thought it would be City and Arsenal, but we also talked about Fulham’s shootout with the Blades before that too. Another match for Everton and another shot of Malort for big Sam. Villa continues their hold on fourth despite Spurs getting a come-from-behind win over Luton.

It was limited matches throughout the EFL as international duty affects teams in the championship and League 1 but that’s not gonna stop the Sam’s from talking about League 2. They also take a moment to catch up on the National League along with the north and south divisions to see how some of the darlings of the FA Cup did. Also, a few surprising clubs have dropped into the lower non-leagues.

No matches in the Prem but it doesn’t mean the league didn’t give the Sam’s something to talk about. Forest received their point deduction, and Everton faces their second charge as Leicester has now been charged too. What does all of this mean, hell if the Sam’s know but they sure as heck talk about it. What does this mean for other clubs and the league? Could this push the Big 6 to a “super league”?

Leeds take over the top spot in the Championship as the Foxes, the Tractor Boys and the Saints are all in striking distance. Pompey continues to lead at the top of League 2 as it would seem only Derby is in the hunt. League 2 says Tranmere beat 1st and 3rd place in the same week as Forest Green got themselves out of the drop in the mid-week to find themselves back in the drop by the weekend.

This week the Sam’s open with Luton Towns roller coaster of a week. Losing to Bournemouth, drawing Forest, and then seeing Forest get a points deduction. The FA Cup was fantastic as Coventry advance to the semis, City and Chelsea advance but the Northwest Derby was a banger of a match as Man U beat Liverpool. Ipswich and Southampton points total would have them in the top 2 if it was another season. 7 spots in the bottom are separated by 3 points. The Sam’s open with the Manchester Derby outside of a screamer of a goal by Rashford, it was a one-sided affair for City. Everton, Forest, and Luton can’t help themselves out of the bottom despite the opportunities to do so. Villa stays ahead of Spurs, while Newcastle makes a final shot at Europa and Arsenal is seemingly scoring for fun.
